Komakino . left this review about The Abingdon Arms

This former Brakspear house between Oxford and Wheatley was purchased by the community a year or so ago and now, pleasingly operates as a free house. Internally, little has changed - you enter into a knocked-through, long, rectangular room where the bar with uneven counter faces you. This area is bare-boarded, and there is a dining area, raised up a step or two in the far left-hand reaches, with a semi-partitioned, quarry-tiled area separating the two. Couple of locAles on the stumps - Abingdon Bridge Gunners Gold and White Horse Village Idiot. A Loddon clip was reversed, as was another I couldn't make out. For an early Sunday evening, this was pleasingly populated with locals, even if a rather sweary conversation between two Irishmen propping up the bar seemed rather out of character.
