A really enticing exterior overlooking a nice bit of the river. Unfortunately it’s an unsympathetic modernized GK boozer, decorated in an anaemic white and guacamole colour scheme. Six pumps at the bar but just St Austell Tribute available, however this was for the best as the half I had was in extremely good nick and slipped down nicely whilst we watched the rugby with the two other customers. Could and should be one of Abingdon’s best, but isn’t.

A fair description from OB below. This appears to have had a bit of a 'Georgian Townhouse' makeover internally in terms of wallpaper choice and chunky, gilded-framed paintings. Along with the Nags Head, this commands a great spot on a quiet back street overlooking the Thames, but the GK livery unsettles and this extends to the ale selection which features such luminaries as Morland Original, Old Speckled Hen, Ruddles Best, Gangly Ghoul and a collaboration beer called Cornish Coast which was a decent drop. The only bum note was a locally contingent who were a little on the sweary side which ruined the ambience somewhat.

A Thames side pub with a splendid exterior advertising “Morland's Entire”, sadly so much promise is dashed when you see the bank of six handpulls but with a choice of Tolly or Morland's Original. A lovely old pub modernised into a bit of a gastro pub although it's not that badly done. There are old floor boards, a few decent old photos, a water colour or two; then there's the taupe coloured walls. All tables and chairs furnished as this is mainly a dining pub and consequently more than a bit soulless however they do play Aunt Sally in the back/side garden even so the clientèle seem to be posh.
