Nick Davies left this review about The White Horse

Very pleasant GBG listed village pub which remains as described by TP below. The bar was too over populated for comfort on a Sunday afternoon so we sat in the restaurant area to enjoy excellent Purity Gold, attractively served. There's a heated patio and attractive garden should the sun deign to put in an appearence.

It's well worth a visit, though parking can be tricky if accessibility is important.

Thuck Phat left this review about White Horse Inn

A recent visit found worthy but dull Purity Pure Gold and Batemans XB on. Both acceptable and around 3.8%. Also on offer was a pleasant Sharps Doom Bar but the star beer was an exceptional pint of Oakhams Bishops Farewell which was very well kept and beatifully presented. We didn't eat but food looks substantial and decent value. Well worth a visit for the Bishops Farewell.

UPDATE September 2011
The White Horse remains relatively little changed and to add detail has a comfortable and friendly bar area to the left of the door with a log burner beyond which is a Northamptonshire skittles table. To the left is a smaller corridor area also acting as an upright drinking area beyond which is a comfortable lounge area, again with a log burner. At the end of the building is an area used as a restaurant. The building itself is an attractive whitewashed, thatched affair with plenty of wood and unrendered stone areas inside. It's a comfortable place to be and there's also a decent sized garden and covered area at the back.
Of the four handpumps, two have Oakham Bishops Farewell, invariably excellent, and Purity Gold on as regulars with one rotating guest added at weekends.
There's been something of a turnover in ownership over the last few years but the welcome is invariably warm, there's a good atmosphere and beer quality has remained high albeit with a slightly more limited choice.
I like it here and will certainly return for the friendly atmosphere and top quality Bishops.
