Update 2023
Demolished in 2022 and now a car park. What a waste.

Aug 2013 review

Appears to be a horrible looking 1960's building, with a fairly horrible 1960's interior, until you realise that it is an extremely fine example of same, preserved in good condition with various ephemera of the time around the walls and even a classic Norwich Brewery pricelist (of perhaps a little later). It even has a bar billards table! Large room round the bar at the front, with view out of the big front windows beloved of the time, with another room to the rear mainly used for eating. Tables outside at the front. A nice row of handpumps definitely didn't come from the 1960's however. Beers mainly from the Greene King range but including the ubiquitous Wherry. Seems to get a bit overwhelmed with holidaymakers in the summer, but not a bad pub despite its looks. Note - opened in 1967 as the Ark Royal and renamed c.2012.
