The Chairman left this review about The White Heron

This was called The Yare but closed when the owners retired in late 2021 or early 2022. It was bought by the adjacent boatyard operator and given a major refurbishment before reopening in late 2022 with a new name.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Yare

Squat building with a rather unattractive front canopy and patio seating area. Dark inside, with a rustic Tap Room and a larger bar / restaurant with a few tables at the back which overlook the boatyard. Separate games room. A bank of four handpumps in each bar, with Bombardier, Wherry and Once Bittern (£2.90) available when I visited.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Yare

This large pub is situated next to the railway station and right next to a boat yard. It consists of a bar on the right with pool table and a very large lounge to the rear. The lounge had a reed wattle ceiling, which I've never seen before. Also there was a games room on the left as you enter the pub. They have a large area for dining, which was busy enough on our visit. Four handpumps serving Woodfordes Wherry, Adnams Southwold, Hobgoblin and London Pride. Adnams was well kept, also has traditional opening times.
