Graham Coombs left this review about The Angel Gardens

A community pub out in the suburbs which has been tarted up with varnished floors, leatherette dining chairs and lightwood tables, with a wooden facing to the bar also. A second room at the back is similar but slightly less woody, while part of the car park is occupied by a marquee out the front, possibly a hangover from Covid. It does however seem to have an interest in beer, with 9 handpumps and a board listing what is avaiilable; sensibly only 4 were on, being Moon Gazer Ostara and a house beer (a Pintail variation), Boudicca Golden Torc and Mighty Oak Oscar Wilde Mild, which was in very good condition.

It was unfortunately closed at 9.10 pm on a Thursday night when all my research pointed to it being open, maybe next time.

Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Angel Gardens

Having been over 10 years since my last visit here, I thought I'd give it another try and I was fairly impressed.

It's a decent local boozer which has Sharp's Doom Bar and 3 guests. These were Adnams Ghost Ship, Lacon's Encore & Tipple's Malten Copper. A further 2 handpulls had Broadoak Moonshine & Norfolk Raider Original ciders, whilst a blackboard on the back of the cellar door also listed Norfolk Raider Wingman & Dolly Pink & Sandford Orchards Devon Scrumpy.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Angel Gardens

Compact three-room pub, with sections housing the bar, pool room and dining area. Fairly basic furniture, with half-height wood panelling and an old pub sign on one wall. Good value food on offer, with Ian's homemade Scotch eggs as snacks. Decent range of ales from the seven handpumps, ranging from the 'house' Angel Best (from Courage) through Pride, Broadside and JHB to local offerings such as Little Sharpie and Wolf Golden jackal (£2.70). The covered patio area at the front doesn't really make the place look very inviting, but you get a friendly welcome and is well worth seeking out.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Angel Gardens

This is a friendly locals pub and has a good name for their homecooked food as the owner is a qualified chef. Also it had a range of seven handpump ales. The front bar was quite bland and a bit tired looking, varnished pine T&G panelling and bare floorboards which were well worn. The music was at reasonable level the only distraction was the pool table in the adjacent room which was very noisy as it echoed throughout the pub. I suppose if I was having a game myself I wouldn't have taken much notice. Ales drank were Wolf Brewery Poppy Ale and Angel Best Bitter which were spot on and reasonably priced.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Angel Gardens

The Angel Gardens is set back from the road.
Once inside i went in the bar at the front of the pub this room was fairly big and a decent enough room to have a drink in,i think there were other rooms but i did'nt look.
There was a decent choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Reedhams bitter and this was a very nice drink the other beers were Ruffs bitter,Burton Bridge Golden delicious and Adnams bitter.
This is a decent pub that i was quite happy having a drink in.
