This is a member of the Ember Inn chain, so you know what you are going to get before entering. One large, interconnected space inside with a central main bar and several areas radiating off that. It is mainly food led but there is a spacious carpeted area around the bar which acts more like a lounge bar area with settee seating and then the more separate areas are normally tables laid for dining.
The bar supports a bank of five hand pumps and I usually find up to four are operating with ales taken from the Ember Inns seasonal lists, which tends to mean the usual suspects from the main regional brewers (Doombar, London Pride, that sort of thing) but some days I strike lucky and there is something more interesting.

Beer not bad - very, very long wait for food and quality very disappointing. Could not recommend at all.

Sadly this Pub is now a shadow of its former self from years Ago. If you look at the Photos you will see what’s left the original Old Pub in the background. Its now just mainly food Pub which is More Food & Family orientated being geared toward Family's and Eating more than Beer Its very similar too a Harvester there was nothing special in the way of decent Ales on when I went in just the usual run of the mill ones on. It’s OK for a quick Pint but there are much Better Pubs around the area for the discerning Ale drinker that prefers a traditional Real Country type Pubs rather than a Licensed Restaurant.
