Quite a nice Spoons in an old mock-Tudor building with a series of areas arranged round a large central servery. The interior is generally pleasant and tidy, with a nice calm atmosphere. A good selection of guest ales on, including 3 from Coach House, Brewsters Hop a Doodle Doo, Brightside Spark Blonde and Stewart Pentland IPA, and those sampled were in good nick.

Surprisingly quiet on my Thurs afternoon visit, maybe all the customers had taken a stroll down to the sea front. I'm not complaining, as I had the bar to myself and spotted Peerless Dragon on handpump, which was decent enough. The interior had some interesting features such as a couple of carved oak fireplaces, some stained glass windows located along the top of the front windows and lots of oak panelling. Eight ales on handpump on this visit.

This appears to be an original pub consisting of a large room with a central bar and areas spread around it. It wasn't that busy on my late Saturday afternoon visit.
A good selection of beer was available with no doubling up, no blanks and no available soon. These were GK Abbot, Moorhouse Pitch Craft, Purple Moose Glaslyn, a cider, Doom Bore, Banks's Lions Roar, Surrey Hills Surrey Nirvana, Woodforde Reedlighter and Well's Bombardier Gold. I went for the Glaslyn (£2.15) which was in good nick. This was the fourth of six Wirral Peninsula Spoons visited that stocked neither GK IPA or Ruddles Best which was very welcome.
This one is on the closure list from last November and repeated on the list from May 2016 but there were no "For Sale" signs that I could see. It seems a shame that they have to dispose of this one when there are some right dumps surviving.

A large looking Wethers situated in an impressive looking building. Its basically 1 room that surrounds the bar area though it does have distinctive areas to sit with the left hand side more for drinkers than the left. Usually a good variety of beers on with 9 handpumps now on as one has been removed. It is one of the Wethers on the 'for sale' list and it would be a pity if it goes.

Basic Wethy's pub with all the fixtures and fittings, although there was a good selection of cask beers and the toilets were not a bus ride away.
