The Dutch Birds Inn is an L-shaped pub with a central L-shaped bar counter that supports standard keg alongside Cruzcampo, much like many of its peers. As I entered on a recent Monday evening it was hear-a-pin-drop quiet as an intense league pool match was in progress on the pool table to the right. I made my way to the bar and whispered “half a lager” before the barman informed me that there was no need to whisper, and just then with almost comedy timing the jukebox started blasting out some 90s house music. It was lights out in the left rear, where there may be another pool table. I was more interested in the free chilli left-over from the pool match which the barman was trying to get rid of rather than throw away. It was very good, well better than the Fosters anyway. I sat in the front left corner where I had prime viewing of a rowing chav family who were sat on the banquettes along the front of the pub. They looked like the sort that walk to the shops in their dressing gowns and slippers whilst being followed by a gang of urchins. BT Sport is advertised, but the televisions were off. 8/10 for the free chilli and 2/10 for the pub, so I’ll give it a generous 4/10.

A pretty standard pub with a L-shaped room. As noted it has a pool table at each end of the room. No real ale. A tiny stage is in one of the corners. Some Man Utd pictures to the right as you enter. As for the birds the only ones in on this visit were some old hens clucking away to each other.

Looks OK from the outside, but inside it's just one L shaped room now with a pool table at each end of the L. There's a jukebox, Sky TV and a DJ rig but nothing of any interest decor wise. No real ale but 5 standard lagers on the bar. A half of Carlsberg was £1.40. The only thing of interest is the pub name, I've no idea where it came from. Move along there, nothing to see here!
