A fairly routine Taylor Walker outlet but not bad really, especially considering the location next to Euston Station so probably relying on transient trade. A U shaped room with the bar central, TVs all over the place. Lots of high tables and stools, some postage stamp themed wallpaper and lots of fancy written boards advertising this and that, what you'd expect really. Internally a bit of stripped wood panelling is possibly the only feature of any age however the external elevation maintains a pair of impressive Truman's eagles high on the parapet.
Six handpumps, two were "coming soon", both GK brews so no loss, otherwise Westerham 1730, Hackney Best Bitter, Sambrook's Lavender and Truman's Zephyr (£4.14 even after my CAMRA card discount).
Not a bad spot for a change of venue for a quick one before my train, I'd go in again in similar circumstances.

A lively station bar, very much a good bolt-hole in an otherwise barren segment of PSpace*. Four ales on, I enjoyed something called '1441', a rather enigmatic beer which was served at a good bitter-temperature and was able to knife through the evening's Rioja-blurred tastebuds to imply a decent beer. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, clientele was – eclectic. Very happy to start or end a crawl here, but not sure how it would fare as a local. *If you really get Terry Pratchett you will understand what I mean by this.

Haven’t been in the Royal George for a long time but popped in the other night as it was the nearest pub to the Travel lodge that a few colleagues were staying in. Yes I will agree with the reviewer below that the pub is certainly smarter than I remember and seems to have got it act together a bit more, presumably due to the increased competition in the area.
Better selection of real ales now from eight handpumps, although these were the usual suspects of Youngs Gold, Greene King IPA and Abbot, Old Speckled Hen, and CW Bombardier .
If this pub was out in a higher London post code, then I am sure it would be lauded as a fine pub, providing a good choice for the suburbs. But somehow, situated where it is within a hot spot of top notch beer pubs, as much as it tries, it somehow manages to just come across as fairly average.

There were four ales on here, mostly from the ranks of the usual suspects (London Gold, Bombardier and GKIPA) but also including a Christmas ale from Solebay Brewery called Brewdolph, which was a full flavoured ruby beer. This is a Taylor Walker pub so expect the usual pub grub menu. It’s right outside the Eastern entrance to Euston Station, and thus it qualifies as a typical station pub. Inside it’s typical of the worst of the brand, with lots of tall tables and tall stools, one-armed bandits shoulder to shoulder, pop music being played louder than necessary, and transient clientele. There are large TV screens spread liberally about including a very large pull down projection job showing a (muted) sports channel.
This is a bog standard major London terminus station pub. It’s characterless and impersonal, but provides a service and does what it says on the tin, providing food and drink to people on the move.

If ever a pub tried its hardest to be so average it is the Royal George. Situated next to Euston station it obviously hss a transient customer base and yet feels like a local. It is not particularly comfortable or attractive and yet doesn’t come over as being rough and ready or unwelcoming although it does look like it is currently having a bit of a makeover. It is essentially a “does what it says on the tin pub” with no real charm but decent enough to pop in whilst passing through the area. The ale selection on my last visit sums the place up – 8 hand pumps but the dullest selection imaginable with 4 from Greene King (IPA, Abbots, Speckled Hen & Suffolk Swift) as well as Pride, Youngs Ordinary, Adnams and Bombardier. These won’t get people tearing themselves away from the nearby Doric Arch or Bree Louise. The prices are quite reasonable and they are Cask Marque accredited so clearly they do want to make the ales part of their appeal. The menu has all the usual pub grub offerings at around £7/8 for main emals and a dozen orr so wines at around £12-£15 a bottle. There is a dart board and pinball machine at one end with TV and a Big Screen but, apart from a quite dull wood mural of (presumably) the HMS Royal George (it isn’t labeled as anything), there is little to catch ones attention unless you count the current World Cup flag transfers in the windows. It’s refusal to pander to trendy furnishings and gastro pretentions is to be applauded but I can’t help feel that it really needs to go that extra few yards to be taken seriously. Until then it will very much remain a Jack of all trades, master of none.

This big pub is a little rough around the edges, but it serves well kept beer and I found the staff to be very pleasant. GK IPA, Bombardier and Old Speckled Hen were available and there was one unused pump, two pumps were off and another two had ‘coming soon' clips on them. There is also a large selection of standard lagers.

The pub shows Sky and Setanta and there are two plasma screens, one of which is in the quiet dining side of the pub and was turned off even though the Arsenal game was on. There were only a couple of people around there so it was good to see the barman use his head and not inflict people with the football that didn't want to watch it.

It was great to see a dart board, but I'm not so sure about the arcade driving games!

Not a bad place, no smoking area available, food served and real ale. Ouside seating, though next to a busy road. Handy for the station.
