Bucking Fastard left this review about Smarties Bar

A shop conversion to a Sports Bar.The interior is divided by an archway, the front section being the smaller. Here there are two flat screens for sport, while the furniture consists of a few high tables with red topped stools,a bit like an American diner. However the walls are decorated by impressive pictures of fighters and bombers that have used the many RAF bases in the area from WWII to the present day.Through the arch is a much larger back room with a darts board, fruit machine, another flat screen and a rather distracting sound system which seemed unnecessary when the French Open was on,with Andy Murray again beating himself.
Besides the usual keg suspects there are two handpumps, one in each section, with Bateman's XB (£2.85) and a GK IPA clip reversed.Despite the barman pulling through a pint before serving mine ,I could detect cleaner fluid and probably should have stuck to lager like most of the other punters.
The bar is well used by the villagers and is lively. No children allowed in after 5pm,there are tables outside on the boulevard pavement for fine weather drinking. This sports bar is equidistant from Boston United and Lincoln City, yet the considerable amount of replica shirts and memorabilia dotted about the interior all relate to one club, namely Manchester United which is sadly predicatable and says a lot about this establishment.
