Soup Dragon left this review about The Red Lion

This is a detached C18th/C19 century pub with patio area. The pub building is in undressed brick and looks like it has been a row of separate building before being turned into one. The brick shows a couple of phases of construction. There are some nice windows, including a row of dormers with finials, as well as a low-level front extension.

The interior has a near U-shaped open-plan room. It is in white, coffee and exposed brick walls, with a coffee and wood panel ceiling and patterend carpet. There are a couple of brick fireplaces, one was lit and a few settles mixed in with the general tables and chairs. There are lots of plates, hanging jugs, brasses, mirrors and old prints for interest and a piano. There is a pool table and dart board at the back and there is a TV, which had motor racing on at my visit. The background music was from the radio and at a decent level. The service was fine and there were just a couple of locals in at my late visit.

Beer; usual tap stuff with Deuchars IPA and Bateman's XB on handpull. The XB was decent.

A nice overall pub, with a couple of the safer beer coices on, but well kept. It has the pub games too - worth popping in for one.
