Soup Dragon left this review about The Montalt Arms

A detahced Georgian styled pub with a front patio. The signage is Batmans, however, it didn't sell Bateman's beers. The upper section is in a cream render, with sash windows and dog-tooth cornice. The lower section is in white and has a porch and covered entrance.

A large pub and eatery that has two rooms. The front room is L-shaped and ina crimson artex with white wood panel, with a white and beam ceiling and a red carpet. There are a couple of fireplaces, one at either end. The perimeter and stool seating was also red. There is a decanter collection and the walls have paintings and drawings from art class students on them (that meet at the pub), which are for sale. The quality isn't that bad at all and the prices are really good. There is a TV here and they also serve a general food menu from 12-3pm. The back room is brick and stone effect, with a fakey wood panel ceiling and part wood and carpet floor. There is a stage area, with a TV (not on), a dart board and pool table. The service was fine and the music was general and at a decent level. The clientele was mixed, from families to crib players.

Beer; usual tap stuff with a reasonable Adnam's Southwold Bitter on handpull.

This was a solid enough family place. The art class paintings added some nice interest and are worth a look themselves. I would pop back here.
