Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Lion & Snake

Superficially attractive Marston's pub but sadly there is no character left inside the 'T'-shaped bar and rear dining room which have an anonymous semi-modern appearance. Only two plus points that I can see are the courtyard patio garden and a better range of real ales than the Prince of Wales next door. On the latter point, I found Pedigree, EPA, Hobgoblin, Brakspear Jericho and Ringwood Circadian IPA (£3.40, and a new beer to me).

The Lion and Snake was a John Smiths tied house when i first went in with a couple of my mates on a large weekend pub crawl.
Over the years the pub has altered,on our Saturday dinner visit the pub was packed, the front area is T shaped with the seating being a few tall tables and stools and some bench seating and normal tables and chairs, the room dog legs halfway down, the rear area is set aside for diners, the seating is normal tables and chairs.
The pub is now a Marstons tied house,we had a drink of Wychwood Bar Humbug which was a very nice drink, the other beers i noted were Pedigree New World,Jennings Cumberland,Hobgoblin, plus another beer from Jennings.
This is another Lincoln pub we have been in loads of times,it was a bit too busy to really enjoy our recent visit.

Not as good as it was having been a manager for Marstons the quality of food as gone down hill to keep the GP which is most important to them.
I can say it now that i dont work for them.
But will call back if its just for a look

A large detached Marston's pub and eatery, with a sizable patio area to the side where they hold events too. The building is Tudor, but the rendering and later Victorian additions make it appear somewhat fake. It is in white render with a projecting upper storey, with a row of small windows. The lower facade has black pilasters and interesting Gothic tracery.

The interior has been totally murdered in the past. It is now an open plan long room, with the more dining area at the back. The front area is in cream patterned wallpaper, cream and coffee, with a middle section in dark red and wood panel - there were old photos on the walls in these areas. The dining area is in coffee upper wall and ceiling, with cream and wood panel walls and a patterned carpet. There were more bistro art pictures on the walls here. We did eat here out of convenience, and the food was decent enough. There is a TV, which wasn't on at my visit and the music was general and at a decent level. The service was very friendly and there was a busy and very mixed clientele.

Beer; Ringwood Boondoggle, Old Thumper, Banks's Sunbeam and a decent Jennings Bitter.

A place to pop into for one, or have a budget meal. The beer choice and quality place it better than the average Marston's foody place. I would agree with RAR below, it was looking a little tired and it was a bit stuffy, as it was busy when we called, but I would pop in again.

A good size pub this one with a beer garden. The downside to this pub for me was that the interior was very tired and grubby. The pub was very busy on our visit and was hot and stuffy.
