Steve of N21 left this review about Bottle & Glass

The Bottle & Glass is a very nice looking thatched building on the A418, equidistant between Aylesbury and Thame.
Unfortunately the pub sign has those words written on it which basically sets your expectation on what you will find before walking through the front door, namely “Country pub and dining”.
Shut your eyes and think ultra clean but basically bland and sterile decor with stone slab and shiny solid oak flooring throughout, painted walls with a little bit of exposed brick around a central fire place to try and at least inject a bit of character. A small drinking area close to the bar with high wooden seating and then a much larger rest of the pub space basically laid as a restaurant. And there you have The Bottle and Glass and basically every other modernised food led country pub run by a brewer or pub chain.
And unfortunately the pub sign also has the two words that also make my heart sink, “ Green King”
Anyway I’m hungry and it looks a nice place and hopefully this is one of the progressive GK outlets with an interesting guest ale policy, so in we go.
No such luck, two pumps with Morelands Original and OSH. And the food we had was poor as well. Won’t be bothering stopping here again.
