The Dog & Partridge is an L-shaped pub that had a gate on the entrance because there was a puppy wandering around. A seating area with a large television on the wall to the right of the entrance had been blocked off by chairs, not sure if this was to keep the puppy out or to save on cleaning at the end of the evening. It was quite busy with locals during my recent Thursday evening visit so I suspect it was the former. Under the front left window are banquettes and a fireplace on the left-hand wall houses a burner. The serving counter runs up the right and at the rear is a dartboard and pool table. I spotted a large speaker on a stand so expect some music or karaoke at the weekend. Standard and premium keg was available. I’m sure I’d use here if I lived locally, but as a non-local I don’t plan on revisiting.
