This is a pub that I and many of my school friends used to frequent when we were much younger and there were a couple of 21st parties held in the upstairs room. It’s a nice looking black and white timbered building, inside there’s a small snug to the left as you enter and a large restaurant area to the right that never seems to get busy and is closed at night. Straight ahead is the main lounge. It’s getting very shabby in here these days and doesn’t look to have had much done to it in the past 30 years. The clientele are older than most pubs in the town centre and it looked a bit like a “grab a granny” night on Friday. There was a karaoke rig set up in the main lounge run by a Bobby Ball lookalike called "Broady". He was playing Bucks Fizz greatest hits when I was in!! There are two handpumps on the bar but as far as I am aware they haven’t been used for years. It’s a pretty poor place at the moment and isn’t worth a visit, unless you like Bucks Fizz and grannies of course.
