E TA left this review about Bladud's Head

An old town local in the middle of early 20th Century sprawl. The pub occupies a relatively large area with a paved garden at the back and plenty of outside seating with benches at the front. Sadly, the seating area at the front reeks of stale tobacco and definitely doesn’t make you want to go in, though there was a barrel of water for the dogs. Once in, though, you are presented with the choice of the lounge on the right and the public bar on the left. The lounge is formed from two rooms, still distinct but conjoined, and a bar counter. It was dead – no-one in there, the only sign of earlier activity being a Berco boiler that looked like it had been there since the 1950s. The public bar was longer and much busier – around half a dozen people, mostly coffin dodgers. This room contained a dartboard, a woodburner and a TV showing MTV, the soundtrack of which competed with the equally annoying jukebox with its 60s pop hits. There was also a collection of framed football shirts on the walls. Both bars were floored with industrial carpet. There was another room at the back, which was empty an felt like a disused Scout hut. Three ales on, Bass, Tribute and Pride, all in average condition. It wasn’t a terribly friendly pub and given the beer quality I’m not sure I’d rush back.
