Unexpected brief revisit found Rebellion Blonde and Mutiny available and my mutiny was an excellent drop. Additional pool room not previously spotted, through a door. Mature clientèle in situ. Selection of local papers to peruse.

A basic locals ale pub on the High Street ('regulars only after 11pm on Fri and Sat’ says the sign on the door). A single front bar with bare board flooring and not overly alluring white and mushroom shade interior. Much more alluring at the bar though; two ales from Chiltern (Chiltern Ale and Bodgers Barley Wine) and two from Rebellion (Mutiny and Blonde). Being sober enough to realize that drinking an 8.5% ale on a Tuesday afternoon was a bad idea, I went for the much more sensible Chiltern ale and was rewarded with a first class half. One local and Judge Grindr for company on a quiet Tuesday afternoon, decided against firing up the jukey as the good Judge seemed to be on form. Dart board spotted. As a pub it's not exactly a draw but the ale makes it well worth a stop. 6.5
