Staple-shaped locals pub in a small hamlet. Don't be fooled by the Braskpears signage, it's now a freehouse. Pub seems to have been recently upgraded but retains a bit of village charm. Darts and lit log fire as well as black and white canvas prints (of the pub?). Of interest are the old brown jars inlaid into the lower part of the brick bar, containing £1 notes. Grassed and fairly spartan rear garden. Four pumps sporting two West Berks ales, GOB (very good) and Chubbs served-up by a disinterested barmaid. Selection of papers to pass the time. Decent enough place, one you can take the missus too as well. 6.5, would have been a 7 if the barmaid had smiled a bit.
