Quinno _ left this review about Uncle Tom's Cabin

Aged building but a bit blandly modernized inside, white and grey walls and rather antiseptic. Two roomed layout, the bar is in the first as you enter and beyond is a dining room with nice views over the grassed and tree-surrounded beer garden. Some splashes of colour from flowers on the tables and artwork (for sale) on the walls. Four ales on but an excruciatingly unimaginative selection for these parts; Doom Bar, Pride, Brakspear Bitter and Courage Best. In fairness the Pride I sampled was in pretty good shape. On a basic level it's decent in here but too characterless to warrant decamping from the nearby Jolly Farmer. On a side note I was mildly surprised to see that Uncle Tom does indeed appear on the pub sign over the road - I’m surprised the PC mob haven’t put paid to that yet. Although quite why a pub named after an American novel sits in rural Berkshire is somewhat a mystery to me.
