Steve of N21 left this review about The Boot

The Boot is a nice looking 17th Century Pub just outside the rural Hertfordshire village of Chipperfield. It was originally built in 1610, and the two bar areas and pub restaurant retain the low oak beamed ceilings and open log fires. It’s usually well decked out with hanging baskets and there are several bench seats to the front and side of the pub and then a smaller pub garden section with separate children’s play area out back.
Usual chrome lager offerings were complemented by a couple of real ale handpumps. Unfortunately these were dispensing GK IPA and London Pride so nothing really inspiring to go along with the traditional décor but my Pride was perfectly fine.
There seemed to be a fairly extensive traditional pub food menu available at reasonable price levels but we didn’t try it.
