Bucking Fastard left this review about The Rusty Gun

Essentially an upmarket restaurant. The entrance is at the rear from the car park, and is all plate glass and flash.I was intercepted by a friendly waitress, and she was quite happy for me to have a drink without dining. The small bar is clad in wood and is to the left of the entrance while to the right is the dining room. There is only limited seating around the bar,and the section beyond is also set up for dining. The interior has beams, wood features and a rustic feel. There is a seperate internal farm shop selling deli items with a long dining table in the middle for hire by any group with a desire to eat in a shop .
Two handpumps with Adnams Southwold Bitter and a very well kept Rusty Gun from The Old Cannon Brewery, given the surroundings £3.30 felt reasonable.
There are many wooden benches in a rear garden for exterior drinking. I have heard very good reports about the food, but if you want a drink I feel this place is more of a summer venue given the limited bar area.

Paul Gilchrist left this review about The Royal Oak

The Royal Oak is well known in Langley and across Hertfordshire as a fine country pub. We are near the market town of Hitchin. There is always a warm welcome with roaring log fires, freshly prepared food, a good selection of real ales and a wine menu for you to choose from.
