It's not often you find a small high street Fullers pub but this one is pretty good. It was busy on my visit as there was a live football game on so I didn't get to look around much - didn't spot the bar billiards table mentioned in previous breviews. The layout makes it a bit difficult to move around when busy and the real fire rather gets in the way. Beer was in good condition and we stayed for a couple.

Mr Fastard's review below remains accurate with large drinking area, bar billiards and real fire still in tact. The TV screens are also still there but weren't on on our Monday evening visit. The place does though feel clean and fresh as though it's benefited from a recent coat of paint and general spruce up.
Ales: Gales Spring Sprinter, London Pride and ESB. The Spring Sprinter was fine, light and refreshing but the star of this show was the ESB which was in top condition. Good to see as this was the case the last time I visited some years ago. There's clearly a commitment to maintaining consistent ale quality and the ESB really is good.
I'd certainly return if visiting Apsley.

Fullers house with London Pride and ESB together with a guest beer which on my visit had just run out.On my infrequent trips here ,the ESB has always been in absolute top form. This is a small traditional looking pub with a corner entrance and a central serving area with a drinking area wrapping right round. There is a real fire in the front area , bar billiards to the side and a darts board where an entrance door once stood .Televised sport with horse racing popular with the regulars. From the exterior the pub looks a bit rough but inside it is clean and recently recarpeted.Quiz night on Sunday ,overall a good local boozer and the best option in Apsley.
