Graham Coombs left this review about Brewhouse & Kitchen

A worthy conversion of a suburban pub into the Brewhouse concept. The entry is a bit strange, going in through the side room containing a disused bar and the brewing kit, but once having worked round to the main room you find a pleasant interior with the usual distressed wood and various pipe and copper fittings. There is a large extension at the back and a garden behind. Just their own beers on, but quite a good selection ranging from IPA to Porter, on both handpump and keg.

I used to use this pub back in the 1970's when it was known as the Highfield so I've seen some changes here. There are two entrances either end of the pub, the right hand entrance (south side) leads into the 2½ barrel brewery which used to be the public bar, they do excellent brewery experience days on Fridays and Saturdays. The entrance to the the left (North end) leads into what used to be the lounge bar and garden bar, now one large bar and the main service area. A large garden is to the rear of this bar. There are four handpumps exclusively serving the ale brewed on site, at the time of writing this review the brewer is about to leave so it's pointless mentioning the beers available until a new brewer has got his feet under the table. One or two key-keg ales someone's available and a dozen or more "craft" Keg beers. Excellent food is served all day, the pub is child and dog friendly, plenty of parking at the front and to the south side of the pub. The left (north) entrance is wheelchair accessible and has some disabled parking bays nearby.
