A GK pub, formerly a Flowers roadside inn which has been bypassed by the new main road through and is now in a cul-de-sac. There is a fairly tight car park, and an outside seating area with a large pergola. It is mainly frequented by locals and users of the nearby marina, so it has a nice, friendly local air about it. The ground floor of the Victorian house has been knocked through, and the single L-shaped bar has flagstone flooring at one end, a raised, carpeted floor at the other. There are brick chimney breasts at each end, with open fires making it feel very cosy. The staff were friendly enough, but they did look a bit self-conscious in their silly uniform black shirt. Food is the usual uninspired GK mass-produced stuff, but it's fine for a quick lunch or a snack although I personally find the galvanised bucket with half a dozen chips in it so very last decade. There is WiFi and a range of gaming machines, and the pub is both dog and family friendly. There were 2 ales on draft, GK IPA and Golden Hen, both reasonable but neither spectacular. It's not a bad place to drop into for a quick pint when passing, and I would probably include in a crawl

Retro style pub, average to small in size, friendly staff local punters who keep themselves to themselves, weekly draws (e.g. meat) and quizzes. Dog friendly. Small outside paved beer garden mostly covered by a 2-sided gazebo. Average variety of drinks avaliable. Not eaten there but they serve daytime food which i'm told is fairly decent. Good parking and a nice old building still with many features remaining inside.
