For some reason I expect a place called Mickleton to be in the Lake District or Dales. Anyway this one isn't, it's on the original line of the A46 in Cotswold tourist central. The pub is a typical stone affair reasonably well preserved inside, two rooms, restaurant and bar. The bar is very pleasant, no sign of dining paraphernalia though I suspect that may change weekends. Menu is the standard expensive up itself stuff you get round here, priced without pound signs. Garden looks inviting. Purity UBU was OK. As Ian alludes below, more fur coat than knickers with this one.

Beautiful looking Cotswold Pub that promises more than it delivers.

Let down by an uninspiring beer range - Bombardier Gold and one other. Surely it should be stocking some local brews. Or at least something more inspiring?

Quirky decor, friendly staff and locals, nice fire.

Would have possibly stayed for a 2nd if the Friday evening TV wasn't blaring mindless game shows.
