Similarly rated to Steve’s previous review. Suspect the place has changed a bit since then but essence of the venue remains the same.

Small venue with a small bar where half a dozen or so locals were perched around on my visit. Keg only and mostly lager (Amstel, Moretti, Cruzcampo, Carling, Heineken & Brixton) with just a Strongbow and Guinness to counter that lager onslaught. It was a Guinness for me by total default.

Weather closed in over of the course of the evening and it reduced my appetite for a crawl here - maybe if I had done in the height of mid summer I would have felt more upbeat. The Old Boot a stunning quaffing landmark here though - come rain or shine.

Steve C left this review about The Office Bar

Located down Saxon Lane the Office Bar and Club shares a gated entrance with Seahaven FM and in the front yard area there is a smoking shelter and a few tables and chairs. The club area was closed during my visit on Monday afternoon leaving a small bar area decorated with pictures of various old variety performers including Des O’Conner and Max Bygraves. No children are permitted which is a good thing as I think that the no swearing sign was just put up for a laugh and I don’t know many children that could keep up with the conversation that flipped from god to hookers and then to deep sea diving within sixty seconds. I don’t remember seeing a TV up on the wall, but there was some old music playing in the background that the aging bar flies seemed to appreciate and there is also a fish tank that some would rather stare at than watch football. A standard draught selection is available and the Guinness was passable, but served in an oversized San Miguel glass that made it look a little short and silly.

There are better places in the area for a beer so I’ll not be returning.
