Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Hope Anchor Hotel

Old hotel in an elevated position in a quieter part of town overlooking the river. Modest bar area with just three tables but on a sunny corner, with a couple of other lounges and a beer garden at the front. Just Harvey's (£5.20) on the solitary handpump but that was in good shape.

Steve C left this review about Hope Anchor Hotel

To the right of the entrance of the large Hope and Anchor Hotel is a small bar with enough room for twenty people at a squeeze. The bar supports two hand pumps that were drawing Long Man Brewery’s Sussex Pride and Harvey’s Best. The draught selection comprises Becks Vier, Kronenburg, Guinness, Courage Best Smooth Flow and Kingstone Press cider alongside Virgin Cola. I plumped for the Sussex Pride which went down a treat.
There was some very low background music playing that went hand in hand with the traditional décor. There are a few picnic tables out the front that afford lovely views across Romney Marsh to the sea.

I found the gentleman who was working behind the bar to be very polite and friendly. I wouldn’t go out of my way to drink here again as there are some decent proper pubs in Rye, but as a hotel bar it does the job well.
