Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Royal Oak

Traditional village pub, undergoing some exterior refurbishment when I called in. Partly opened out inside, with the bar in the centre, the dining area going back on the left-hand side and another room with the pool table and skittle alley (and probably also used for live music and other events I guess) up a few steps to the right. As a Harvey's house, I found Armada (£4.80) and the inevitable Sussex on two of the four handpumps, with a pair of the local South Downs ciders on the others.

Steve of N21 left this review about The Royal Oak

Attractive brick built village pub, well festooned with hanging baskets and planted up half barrels. Probably separate rooms in the past it is now a series of connected areas. The main wood panelled bar area is wooden floored with an open brick fireplace to one end and then there is a carpeted dining section to the other. A separate function room houses a skittle alley and then out back there is a pleasant grassed garden area and there are a couple of additional bench seats with umbrellas to the front of the pub.
It is a Harveys tied house and four of their ales were on in the shape of Sussex Best Bitter, Old Ale, Harveys Mild and IPA and the couple we tried were well kept.
Then there is a traditional pub grub food menu available but we didn’t try it.
A solid enough tied village local.
