Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Old King John

Old-school, but none the worse for that, and one of the last in the area. Simply furnished and plainly decorated L-shaped bar, with a darts area at the back and a (covered) bar-billiards table in one corner. A respectable pint of Harvey's (£4.60) was available from one of the pair of handpumps at one end of the counter, although these aren't immediately obvious as you enter.

Steve C left this review about Old King John

The Old King John wasn’t very busy at all when I visited on a recent Saturday evening. In fact the only people in the pub were a trio of locals that were playing shove-ha’penny. There is also a dartboard and pool table to the left of the long bar and some nineties music was playing in the background. The bar is stocked with standard draught products and the two hand pumps that I spotted were drawing Harveys Best and Kentish Best. There is a small smoking area out the back that was busier than the pub with locals and their dogs.

This is a pub for the older inhabitants of the area and I found the governor to be polite and friendly. I’d probably not go out of my way to visit here again, but I’d pop back in if passing.
