About
Sunday 5th march sees former inspiral carpets lead singer Tom Hingley playing his live solo show at the duke of york, for those of you who dont know, the inspiral carpets were one the top bands to come out of the madchester scene in the late 80s early 90s, along with the likes of the stone roses and the happy mondays they helped form the soundtrack of a generation, they had several chart hits during this time including 'this is how it feels' all of which were sang by tom, also famously at this time none other than Noel Gallagher was a roadie for the band and rumour has it that oasis took their name from an inspiral carpets gig poster, so all in all the man is a bit of legend and if you want a genuine flavour of the madchester days from one of the original boys then get yourselves down to the duke on 5th march, and remember as always this is all for free aswell folks!!
before and after we will be blasting all the classic tunes from back in the day so all in all should be a good day.
