About
The Tony Stone Band started by accident and by circumstances. Originally called Tony's Cancellation Band back in the late 90's at the time of the last fuel crisis in the UK.

A Ceilidh band had been booked to play a birthday celebration in Chiddingfold. Because the band hailed from the Midlands they were not able to make it because they did not have enough petrol and no means of getting any.

Michael (lead guitar TSB) had lived in Chiddingfold and was a friend of the son of the birthday girl, was called to ask whether he could provide a band.
Michael immediately called Tony (vocals, acoustic and electric guitar) a man he had known through late night drinking haunts and music venues, to see if he could play that night. He said yes. Tony called Bubs, (Bass) who has had a considerable presence in Farncombe all his life, and he was available.
Meanwhile Michael called his new neighbour, who he had not spoken to yet, but knew he had a drumkit, and asked if he could play that night. He said yes even though he had just arrived back from a family holiday in Turkey! He turned out to be the extraordinary drummer, musician and music producer Craig Blundell.

The band was formed and went on to perform a cracking gig! Fun was had by all!

The band has continued to play many parties and occasional pub gigs, and specialise in the human jukebox repertoire of Tony. Anything from Led Zep, Coldplay, Snow Patrol......The Eagles... 50's Rock n Roll.. Beatles.... Folk The list goes on.
They are also defined by the drum seat. Due to Craig's many musical commitments, although he has done many of the gigs he is not always available, so this seat has been taken by many excellent drummers.
Oli Austen, Nick McGurk, Matt Wheatley, Stevie Weaver,Malcolm Mortimer to name but a few.
The band is also defined by their dogged resistance to new fangled technology like websites and Social Media. Indeed some members don't even have mobile phones, let alone smart phones.

Rightly or wrongly word of mouth has been their only promotional tool.
Come and enjoy them. I hope you like it. Who knows who will be behind the drumset
