Other Monkey Brewing The Taproom, Colchester

Other Monkey Brewpub for Other Monkey. An odd set-up as the jolly portly brother runs this whilst the sister has the eatery (Three Wise Monkeys) next door – they are run as two separate enterprises (though you can shuttle between the two via a door) and the latter is heading towards its 2 year anniversary. The usual crafty vibe in here though done to a higher standard than usual. Downside was it freezing cold, maybe matey couldn’t feel it under his natural layer but I certainly could under mine. At the bar; three cask and some craftykeg. Their homebrew wasn't too bad, the cask Mild was poured-off and was a good drop (NBSS 3.5). 3x thirds flights available and the landlord silver-tongued me into one for 6 quid which was decent value although none of my choices were particularly stand-out, the cask mild was best. Anyway, it’s an interesting spot and I think you’d do well to have a look, the friendly welcome sealed it for me.
