The Harbour, Seaton

One of two pubs in the pretty village of Axmouth, this is an attractive thatched Hall & Woodhouse pub overlooking the estuary. Inside, there are a number of different sections. Although, most of the space had tables set out for diners. The two female bar staff were both friendly and could offer me two Badger beers - Best Bitter & Tanglefoot from the 4 handpulls, whilst the pub dog was happy to wander around for fuss and any titbits that might be on offer. My Bitter was pleasant enough.

An idyllic-looking thatched stone building. A Hall & Woodhouse place and fairly blandly made-over inside with a lot of plain wood. Bland muzak and awful framed motivational phrases in the gents, urgh. Three ales on; a house beer, First Call and a fairly terrible Tanglefoot that tasted like it had been fished out of the River Axe which runs through the rear of the garden. On this form it’s best left to the middle classes and their dinners.
