The Snug, Carnforth

We were lucky to get served, as it was just on two o'clock when we turned up here. Carnforth seems to be a busy little drinking town on a Saturday afternoon, as the Station Hotel had been rammed when we looked in before coming here, and this was almost as popular. A completely different crowd, of course, this one being the real ale drinkers with their rain-sodden coats and equally wet dogs, to judge by the smell. It would have been a dilemma if the pub hadn't just been closing, as the beers were tempting but the dogs off-putting. Beers were from local micros such as Barngates and Old School, with an interesting outsider from Banks & Taylor. Service was friendly and so were the locals, so I'll be keen to get back here another time when the weather and the licencing hours are more favourable. Date of visit: 28th November 2015

Well ... I only dropped in briefly, but the place was great. Very friendly guys and a wonderful fresh pint. We were not in for long but any concern of a cliquey feeling was rapidly set aside as we covered cricket, rugby and heaven knows what else. Its my first micropub experience and i shall be on the outlook for more ! Good cider , good beer and good company. I shall be back ... but as i live in Devon it will be a while !
