Upmarket Arkells pub in an attractive building. Plenty of rooms off the main opened-out corridor with the bar off left. It's rather well done with a decent amount of cosiness, rooms and nik-naks which attracts a mature and fairly well-heeled clientele. Surprisingly just one cask in 3B which was a bit over-vented but passed muster (NBSS 3). Worth a look; if Arkells can get their act together at the bar then this would be worth a revisit. 6.5
