The Heroes, Waterlooville

1960s pub (although it looks older), once on the original A3 alignment (which now bypasses the town's dreadful shopping precinct), that now seems to be as close to a heritage building as you can find in these parts. Seemingly unspoiled twin-bar interior, featuring a busy lounge and a sports area (with pool table, etc.) on each side of a island servery and a separate seating area and clear space at the back for the regular live music. This still seems to be a Fuller's pub, although not obviously branded as such, and the four handpumps were dispensing London Pride, Seafarers, ESB and an excellent HSB (a real bargain at just £2.50).

Just an update, it is now what I would term my "local", I got fed up hanging around in Wetherspoon's while others ordered coffee plus this that & the other So I gave the Heroes another chance, and find I really like it, a few regulars, old gits like me mainly, sort of local friendly atmosphere, I only use it early lunch times, so cannot comment on evenings, but from hearsay it is rammed at times with live music
